You don’t need to hear it from me as you already know that a business without leads is doomed to fail. You also know that those that you generate yourself are the best ones and the cheaper. That, of course, if you know how to do it. One of the ways to generate leads for your MLM business is that of using manual traffic exchanges.

In case that you don’t know traffic exchanges or manual surfs are build on the concept that you view other people’s websites and they in exchange view yours. No matter how smart and interesting that concept may sound it has a major flaw. Nobody is interested in what you have to offer. They just want to gather credits so they can get hits to their site. So they are technically worthless for advertising. So why to bother with them you may ask? Well, they may be worthless when it comes to advertising but when they are used the Right Way they can be of great value.

And the right way is to use them for generating leads.

First of all, this method is useful when you are interested in acquiring new distributors for your organization. Why? Well, because manual surfs are flooded with people that are interested in making money online like you and me. If you are interested for customers for your weight loss product, no matter how good it may be, none of them cares about it. But show them an opportunity to make money and you got them.

Of course, if you show it to them the time they are surfing, they won’t look, they won’t hear, they won’t spare you a second, even if you show them the best website since the Internet was invented.

You see, you have to get in the psychology of the surfer and understand how they operate while they are using the traffic exchange. They want one thing. To gather credits so they can show their webpage. But they are forced to wait for a 15-30 second period before the timer finishes so they can press the button and move to the next site while getting that valuable credit.

During that small window of time, you have to grab their attention and pass your message to them. Send them to your regular site and you lost your credits. They won’t bother to look. It’s too big and it takes a lot of time that they don’t want to give it to you.

What you should do is to grab their email address so you can follow up later with them in a different context where they would pay more attention to you. To do that you need to send them to a lead capturing page, one with a small message powerful enough to grab their attention and entice them to fill a form with their name and email address. Usually you have to give them something in exchange that they will perceive as valuable in order to do so. A small report or an ebook can do the trick.

You see your point here is not to send visitors to your website but to generate leads, yes your own leads, that you can follow up with them later. What makes them very good prospects are the fact that they are interested already in Internet, affiliate or Network Marketing. And they are a step further ahead as they are already involved in the industry. On the other hand they are relative new to this field and they lack knowledge on how to use more advanced methods.

Now, what I don’t want to see you doing is joining all those manual surfs and start surfing for credits. No, forget that. Your time is very valuable to waste it like this. I want you to spend it in more creative ways. But what you can do is buying traffic from them and direct it to your lead capturing page. This kind of traffic is relatively cheap. The time you would have spent generating it yourself, by surfing, it surely worth much more.
