Did You Start Blogging?

January 28th, 2008 | by Chris |

We talked about blogging and how it can help you in your multi-level marketing businesses last time. I hope you found useful the how-to videos and I want to believe that you have passed to action and you would have less time to read me now, because you will be busy posting at your own blog.

If you haven’t done so by now, what are you waiting for?

You know as much as I do how important your own presence is on the web when you are contacting business. You can understand how that translates into the eyes of your customers or potential distributors because I am sure you have experienced that, many times, yourself. How your perception about someone changes when he has his own website and not a free solution.

If it’s only because the technophobic inside you, revolts to the thought of messing with stuff like that, as I told you many times, what you can’t do you can always outsource it. As a businessman, outsourcing is something that as your business grow you would have to rely more on it. It’s something that one way or another you won’t be able to avoid no matter what. So if it’s the technical stuff that keeps you back, you better start outsourcing now. Once a wordpress blog is up and running is as simple as just writing and then pressing the publish button.

You can search for companies that are offering that service, using your favorite search engine, or find people to do that in forums or in elance. Ask questions and compare prices. But be careful, some only install it, while others may upload themes and plugins for you and install them, too. Of course don’t forget afterwards to change the passwords. Just in case.

If you really can’t afford having your own hosted website, although I would again stretch the Importance of it and that you should go again through your personal budget and cut some expenses in order to afford it. Some of you are paying $50 or $100 per month to the company in autoship or other expenses, don’t scrooge $10 more.

But it’s your choice and you are solely responsible on deciding how you should build your business. If you instead choose to rely on a free hosting solution, for any reason, the least you can do is buy your own domain name. In that case you can redirect to your site.

Why to do this?

Well, first is brandable and more easy for someone to remember. Second, when you build backlinks, you link to your own domain name and in case you move from the free platform in the future you can now use it on the new site. In that case all the linking effort you put in the past won’t be lost. It’s about $10 a year to buy one and worth spending that amount of money.
