The Power Of Team Co-Ops In MLM

April 4th, 2008 | by Chris |

The definition of a team co-op in MLM is when members pool together capital and expertise for prospecting reasons and share the generated leads, new customers or members among them accordingly. As you understand we talk about advertising and conversion in that situation.

At first an ad co-op accomplishes what are called economies of scale in business, which are realized in the form of volume discounts, when purchasing advertising, or avoidance of multiple purchases of tools like autoresponders or hosting services if each member were to go solo in our situation.

Everybody knows that when buying in bulk and large volumes you can usually get discounts, but many times pooled capital may make available advertising opportunities that require large budgets that members can’t afford individually.

But as I said in the beginning is not always about putting money together, more than often is the expertise pooled that makes the difference.

Not all distributors within an organization have the same skills and abilities and some are still learning. By working together they can combine their unique abilities and expertise in various fields to set up systems that would give them the results they want.

For example, let’s suppose that a fictional team wants to start a campaign to generate leads with the purpose of converting them to new members. What they want to do is to send traffic to a lead capture page offering a free ebook on the subject of Internet business opportunities and then following-up with them trough an autoresponder series of emails with the purpose of converting them to distributors.

Now, besides the money they gather together for that purpose, they also share responsibilities. Someone who knows about outsourcing, as he has make use of it in the past, takes the job of hiring someone for writing the ebook as they wanted to be. Another member who happens to be an excellent copywriter writes the text on the landing page and the email series. Two others good at PPC take that part and make keyword research and write the ads. Somebody else takes the task of finding relevant newsletters and advertise on them through solo emails.

A few other who have no problem on talking on the phone with prospects, share the responsibility of calling the generated leads to increase conversions. Another one on the technical things like hosting, autoresponder configuration and their maintenance.

Once everything ready they let it roll and evaluate their results for possible adjustments.

As you can see all together accomplished things difficult for someone to do everything himself and getting good results without great experience or without resorting to outsourcing.

The pooling of expertise is what I think the most important and powerful aspect in a team co-op. Teamwork like this is always getting the best results and accomplishes much more of what each one would be capable of achieving individually.
