Idea Hunting In Forums For Writing Articles

May 14th, 2008 | by Chris |

A very common problem for anyone into article marketing or writing for your website is that of ideas. Very often we get stuck and simply we don’t know what to write about.

Well, do you remember that I told you that you should be writing about what people want to read and are already searching for? And how to use the Google’s keyword suggestion tool to find them?

Good for you since you remember. If not check this out now about Article Marketing.

Now, another good way is to use forums for getting ideas. If you visit a forum you would notice that very often users start threads and ask questions about problems they have or simply because they want to satisfy their curiosity. Well, keep a sheet of paper next to you when you visit message boards and write down such questions. Don’t you think you can write an article answering each question?

Of course you can, and that’s what you should do. You know that for every person that participates actively in a discussion forum (meaning that is posting) 10 others are lurkers? Yes, they read it regularly but never wrote a single post, I am not even counting the passers by who come from search engines.

If we keep that ratio in mind we can conclude that there are many more interested in learning that answer. What’s more you will notice that some very common questions get repeated all the time which means your potential readers are even more if you sit down and write that article.

Another way to get ideas and some times ready to burst them onto a paper or on your screen at a frenetic speed is by reading a controversial thread that gathers a lot of posters and the discussion gets heated. After you go through all the posts or some of them don’t you start inside your head shaping an opinion?

Don’t you feel ready to share your view with the other posters? Well, congratulations, besides from doing so you can also take the ideas and your opinion on the subject and put them into one article. You don’t have to care about structure and form just get the words down as they come to your head and you can do some minor editing later.

If you write such an article its tone would be more conversational and not strict and rigid but that’s okay. Who told you it has to be strict. You’re not writing for your professor, you are writing for people like you and me. Sometimes with informal writing you can better connect with your readers and your articles have a very good flow.

And if you are writing with the purpose to syndicate it through an article directory and you doubt whether it would be accepted or not, you have nothing to worry. I wrote such articles my self with no problem and very frequently I read other authors that submit such articles with a very personal and informal tone and style. Sometimes they may be also successful in terms of click through from your resource box.

So don’t waste more time. Paper next to you, pen ready, and go fast to your favorite niche or MLM forum and good Idea Hunting.
